**Job Description**:
Director, Human Resources - Austria & Switzerland (M/F/d)
Location: Vienna, Austria or Zug, Switzerland
18 months fixed-term contract

The Role
This role leads HR for the Swiss and Austrian affiliate, is a key member of both leadership teams and reports to the Executive Director HR for the ACE Midsize Markets Region. The majority of staff in the affiliate are Sales & Marketing oriented; the affiliate also has Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance & IT functions. Whilst the GMs have full day-to-day responsibility for running all aspects of the business, Gilead is a functionally aligned organisation with the non-sales & marketing staff reporting to their regional or global function heads. By the very nature of a rapidly growing and highly demanding business, the role of the HR function is to balance pragmatic solutions, flawless execution and the ability to partner & challenge effectively. At the same time, and consistent with the overall culture at Gilead, this role will require someone who is very comfortable in being hands-on.
As part of the evolution of our HR Model Gilead has established Centres of Expertise in Talent Acquisition, Total Reward, Training, Development & Inclusion, Employee Relations as well as HR Operations. Consequently, this role will ideally suit a self-starting team player who understands how to successfully operate through a matrix model, build strong international networks, and is an advocate of an inclusive, agile and impactful culture. In this role, you will act as a coach and strategic thought partner to leaders and will have a business-focused approach to help translate business objectives into people & organizational strategies. In partnership with the HR CoEs, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of HR Programs which strengthen our position as an employer of choice and will enable and support cross-functional collaboration in an agile matrixed team structure.
Responsibilities include- Organizational Change & Development: Partnering with leaders to support growth and development, talent & succession planning and leadership readiness within the affiliate. Ensuring organizational success in complex business situations such as org changes. Analyze workforce data (turnover, survey results etc.), facilitate focus group discussions to identify trends and initiate solutions to improve performance, retention, engagement and employee experience.- Talent Development & Inclusion: In partnership with the TD&I team build capability and ensure resources are known in the affiliate as opportunity and regular practice to improve both career and performance.- HR Programs & Services: Partner with CoE colleagues to ensure seamless HR delivery within the affiliate (onboarding, performance management, talent development etc.)- Works Council
