The Bonifazi Group at the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Vienna, is looking for a dedicated and motivated Lab Technician to join our team.
**Your personal sphere of influence**:
The Bonifazi Lab is focused on the synthesis, analysis, and purification of organic molecular and macromolecular organic compounds. Activities are implemented utilizing state-of-the-art synthetic and analytical instrumentation. The Lab Technician will be responsible for the running and maintenance of the GPC and HPLC machines for the purification of these compounds, and support in their synthesis and characterization.
**Your future tasks**:
- Performs qualitative and preparative HPLC and GPC purifications.
- Performs Characterization of the synthesized compounds for chemical authenticity, purity and yield calculation. Characterization is performed by one or several of the following analytical techniques: Nuclear Magnetic resonance (NMR), Infrared (IR) and UV-Vis Spectroscopy.
- Maintains records of all synthetic products manufactured in-house.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
- Coordinates the purchase of supplies necessary to maintain operations and coordinates the disposal of chemical wastes adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with laboratory safety protocols and maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Participates in the organic synthesis of the compounds if needed.
- Ability to report the results of work in verbal and written form.
**This is part of your personality**:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent (work experience preferred)
- Scientific education in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry or related field
- Experience in working with HPLC and GPC purification systems. Experience with organic synthesis would be an advantage.
- Fluent German skills as well as good English skills.
- Accurate, structured and independent working style with excellent documentation practice.

- Ability to work in an international team environment.
- MS-Office skills.
- Willingness to learn and improve.
