Your Responsibilities
The Freunberger group works on the fundamental science of electron and ion conducting and redox active materials. We incorporate these materials into rechargeable batteries. Help us to develop the future of new battery technologies. Current technologies bear societal problems like environmentally unfriendliness or safety issues. The technology of Redox-Flow-Batteries serves as a loophole. For our new invention in this field, we are looking for an ambitious team member to support our dynamic team in synthesis of organic molecules on the 10g scale.
Your focus is the modification of known compounds by substituents. After a training period, you will be responsible for a self-reliant lab operation running synthesis, purification and analysis methods.
Synthesis is partially done under inert atmosphere (Glovebox, Schlenk-Line)
Purification methods are typically recrystallization, distillation and column chromatography
Analysis methods include NMR, UV-VIS, GC-MS
Your Profile
Education in Chemistry, Material Science or equivalent (HTL, Bachelor, Master)
Experience in synthesis is advantageous
Highly motivated and willing to work independently
Hands-on mentality and willing to learn new processes
Good English skills and/or German skills
The working contract runs for 18 months, as limited by the project period.
However, subsequent contracting can be offered.
