The internship positions are located in the Talent Development Team (TDT), Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Division for Management (DM), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The Talent Development Team (TDT) is responsible for implementing the Organization's learning and development policy at Headquarters and UNODC field offices, which emphasizes that staff development is an on-going process and a necessary investment for UNOV/UNODC to successfully achieve the UN mandates. Besides, the Talent Development Team (TDT) is responsible for the sourcing, coordination and implementation of learning and development activities related to the UNOV/UNODC Innovation Strategy 2021-2025 as well as support for various organizational and change management initiatives.

The internships are envisaged for a period of 6 months duration with various starting times throughout 2023. The first position has a starting date in February/March 2023.

The internships are UNPAID and full-time; i.e. 5 days per week (40 hours). The selected interns will work under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

**Responsibilities**:
The interns will take on a supportive role on the team and duties may include (among other tasks):

- Research, analysis and summary of academic literature concerning innovation, new ways of working, and new technologies;
- Provide support to identify initiatives or trends on new technologies, new ways of working and organizational agility within the UN system and society at-large;
- Assist with the organization of workshops, expert group meetings, and forums to promote and foster innovation;
- Participate in day-to-day operational tasks of the office. This may include, for example, responding proactively to client queries, support for developing presentations and other communication materials, and/or updating websites and databases;
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepares minutes and help to coordinate follow-up activities;
- Perform other duties to support the team as needed.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:

- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views;
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have recently graduated with a university degree (
