Scientific Director (f/m/d) - Cancer Cell Signaling-2211176

**THE POSITION**

**Tasks & responsibilities**
- You will drive competitive research in the area of tumor cell directed therapies to identify and validate new therapeutic concepts and support drug development programs
- You will build and develop a group of 20 scientists including recruiting, managing, and mentoring scientific staff
- You will identify, develop and implement novel technologies in the area of molecular oncology
- You will be establishing impactful external collaborations with academic partners and CROs to enhance portfolio innovation and output
- And you will drive Boehringer Ingelheim’s scientific profile, utilizing internal and external networks to ensure publication in high impact journals and presentations at international conferences

**Requirements**:

- PhD (Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field) or MD degree
- Extensive experience in leading research labs in industry or academia
- Research experience in tumor biology with profound expertise in in vitro oncology research
- Scientific excellence demonstrated by accomplishments in drug discovery and/or an outstanding publication record in cancer therapy-relevant areas
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams paired with strong leadership, presentation and communication skills

The remuneration for this position starts at EUR 80,000. gross annual salary (full time) [as well as a variable bonus]. When defining the actual salary we are taking your technical skills as well as personal competencies and relevant professional experience into consideration.
