Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer

This position is located in the Thematic Support Section (TSS), Corruption and Economic Crime Branch (CEB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Section and the overall guidance of the Chief of the Branch.

**Responsibilities**:
Within the framework of the Global Programme to prevent and combat corruption through effective implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in support of Sustainable Development Goal 16, UNODC has set up a Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities, the GlobE Network (“the Network”) to facilitate informal cooperation among anti-corruption entities. Within the framework of the Global Programme, UNODC has set up a Programme on Safeguarding Sport from Corruption and Economic Crime (“the Programme”) to support Members States, sports organizations and relevant stakeholders to effectively tackle corruption and economic crime in sport.

Within assigned authority, the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer (Anti-Corruption) will be responsible for the following specific duties:

- Contribute to the implementation of the overall aim of the Programme on Safeguarding Sport from Corruption and Economic Crime, namely, to support governments and sports organizations tackle corruption and economic crime in sport.
- Contribute to the implementation of the aim of the project, namely to promote and enhance effective cooperation and the informal exchange of information and good practices to effectively tackle corruption and economic crime in sport, including by designing, conducting and providing substantive backstopping to consultation meetings with beneficiaries, workshops, seminars and conferences in relation to the project.
- Provide guidance and support to the development and launch of the UNODC GlobE Safeguarding Sport Network.
- Facilitate contact between Network member authority focal points, stakeholders of the Programme and relevant officials of national, regional and international sports organizations.
- Identify needs, gaps, challenges, and opportunities for anti-corruption agencies, law enforcement authorities and sports organization regarding their cooperation on corruption and economic crime related cases involving sport.
- Provide support to the development of policy papers, guidebooks, and fact-based analysis, as well as knowledge products tailored to the needs of the Network and the Programme.
- Provide input to the development and implementation of technical assistance including in follow up to the UNCAC implementation reviews and programmes or activities under the Network and the Programme.
- Foster contacts, co-operation and partnerships with government counterparts, other international organizations/entities tasked with promoting international anti-corruption cooperation, sports organizations as well as other stakeholders. Support liaison and exchange of experiences with other similar networks.
- Contribute to programmatic and administrative tasks necessary in support of the Network and the Programme including tracking and measuring performance outputs and indicators, policy and operational objectives, drafting project progress reports, and ensuring preparation of related documents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support the development and dissemination of promotional materials and promote and disseminate information about the Network and the Programme to the media, the donor, civil society, sports organizations and relevant governmental officials (such as, media advisories, press releases, background notes, fact sheets and other publications).
- Contribute to the effective mobilization of resources, including by liaising with current and potential donors; participate in donor meetings and fund-raising activities.
- Prepare briefing notes and presentations for the management level of UNODC, donors and others, as required.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provides insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
- Perform other work-related duties as required.
