Job Description

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is seeking a Senior Cancer Control Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a vital role in supporting low- and middle-income countries in developing comprehensive cancer control plans.

In this role, you will work closely with the Director of PACT and the Section Head of the PACT Cancer Control Review and Planning Section to produce specific deliverables related to planning and implementation of PACT activities. Your work will result in several outputs related to comprehensive cancer control in low- and middle-income countries, reflecting global frameworks and developments in public health, particularly in non-communicable diseases and global cancer initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Produce background analysis and write reports on the comprehensive cancer control situation of low- and middle-income countries based on existing or new data.
  • Prepare documentation for meetings of experts and stakeholders on comprehensive cancer control in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Produce documentation and presentations on national comprehensive cancer control planning, including resource materials for various stakeholders.
  • Analyse and prepare reports on country progress in cancer control planning, particularly in countries that have received IAEA support.
  • Produce updates and analysis of health systems in low- and middle-income countries as they pertain to comprehensive cancer control.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in public health, health economics, international development, public/business administration, or management, or fields related to non-communicable diseases.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in programme development and management, preferably in an international setting with a focus on health.
  • Previous experience in developing professional service offerings and/or programme design, monitoring, and evaluation is highly desirable.
  • Very good understanding of the context and development needs in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in the health sector.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English with a proven record of report writing or publications relevant to this vacancy.
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to €300, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.

Estimated Salary: $37,000 - $45,000 per year
