Overview of the Position

This pivotal role within the Human Resources division serves as a strategic HR Partner for a specific area within Global Blue.

The individual in this position is responsible for the effective execution of both group and local initiatives, while also mentoring various levels of management including AVPs, Senior Managers, Managers, and Team Leads. This role supports the Country HR Partner in engaging with senior leadership and the Workers Council, playing an integral part in the entire employee life cycle—from successful onboarding and continuous development to retention and professional transitions. The position also entails providing exceptional support to employees and collaborating closely with external stakeholders to address HR matters pertinent to the organization.

As a client-facing role, credibility is established through the fulfillment of commitments, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism, and embodying the company's values by delivering timely and precise information in a proactive manner.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership: Engage proactively with key stakeholders to cultivate and maintain strong relationships, supporting the implementation of HR services aligned with the Country HR Roadmap and corporate ethos; manage sensitive matters, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with legal standards. HR Advisory: Offer expert advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices; oversee complex employee relations issues and conflict resolution within the framework of applicable legal regulations. Expertise in Austrian Labor Law: Ensure that all HR activities, including employment contracts, leave requests, terminations, and disciplinary actions, comply with Austrian labor law and relevant collective agreements; provide guidance and expert advice to both managers and employees. Management of Employee Life Cycle: Supervise and manage all facets of the employee life cycle, ensuring adherence to Austrian labor law. Collaboration with Workers Council: Work closely with the Workers Council to foster strong relationships and promote a positive work environment through collaborative problem-solving. Implementation of Projects: Lead the local execution of HR projects in accordance with the Country HR Roadmap. Workday Administration: Oversee all HR processes within Workday, providing technical support to managers and employees while ensuring compliance.

Key Performance Indicators

Support people managers and act as a partner to them. Deliver on the implementation of group and local HR initiatives. Ensure adherence to HR processes related to the employee life cycle. Conduct regular audits of HR processes and provide analysis and recommendations.

Required Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of Austrian labor law and its applications. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience in effective collaboration with Workers Councils. Familiarity with Workday is preferred. Proficient in both German and English. Excellent written communication skills. Strong time management abilities, with the capacity to organize, multitask, and prioritize effectively.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

A university degree, preferably in human resources or business psychology. Certification in Austrian labor law. Additional training in HR-related fields (e.g., employment law, coaching, organizational development). A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a similar HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role within a complex international setting. A proven history of successful collaboration in intricate organizational structures. Experience interacting with all levels of management.
