Senior Automation Expert – Controls, R&D Innovation

We are seeking a talented Senior Automation Expert to join our R&D team in Controls. As a key member of our innovation hub, you will drive the development of cutting-edge automation solutions that transform industries and societies.
About the Role- Lead a multinational team to achieve strategic goals and deliver market-leading automation solutions in PLCs, IOs, Functional Safety, and Machine Vision.
- Create an inspiring and efficient organization culture, fostering inclusivity and open-mindedness.
- Ensure a competitive competence mix and continuous learning spirit among team members.
- Drive corporate R&D processes and interfaces following agile principles, respecting industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and manage synergies with other R&D teams across the company.
- Represent the department to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and ABB entities.
- Oversee HR processes within the team and serve as a sparring partner for team leads.
- Engineering degree, preferably in electronics and/or software engineering.
- Several years of relevant professional experience in management, ideally in a comparable position.
- Fluency in English; German is an asset.
- Demonstrable track record of managing cross-functional teams, focusing on hybrid hardware/software products.
- Excellent communicator with a hands-on mentality and inclusive leadership style.
