Data Sustainability Specialist

Sustainability is a key strategic priority for our organisation, and as a Data Sustainability Specialist, you will play a critical role in establishing necessary process changes within our systems to manage our Sustainability Program.

Sustainability Reporting goes beyond mere compliance with regulations; it is an integral part of our company's strategy. As a primary objective, it must be incorporated into every aspect of our operations, across all departments and levels of the organisation. This will lead to a significant increase in the data granularity we need to collect and manage on a regular basis.

As a Data Sustainability Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading sustainability data integration work packages and ensuring timely execution;
  • Defining a detailed project plan with realistic project timelines in close alignment with all involved departments;
  • Following up on the achievement of milestones during the project phases and documenting them in our project management tools;
  • Making sure that deadlines are met, setting the right priorities, and communicating proactively with all involved parties;
  • Identifying bottlenecks and finding alternatives to remove roadblocks;
  • Collecting business and process requirements, coordinating them with cross-functional stakeholders, and translating them into structured and detailed requirements documentation;
  • Being responsible for testing all implemented solutions to ensure high quality and functional integration of all technical developments;
  • Conducting trainings and ensuring proper documentation after successful testing;
  • Providing 2nd level support for the newly developed solutions;
  • Implementing business concepts and data modelling structures using your business expertise (e.g., CSRD, GHG, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD) and technical expertise (e.g., systems, interfaces, data integration, data modelling, reporting);
  • Acting as a reliable business partner for Sustainability, Finance, Data, IT, Operations, Legal etc., and as a "translator/link" between Business and IT;

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years' work experience in Sustainability and/or in the Business Intelligence area with project involvement;
  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting Systems, ideally SAP ERP-S4, SAP BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau or any other BI solutions;
  • A University degree in Sustainability, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Business Informatics, IT or similar;
  • Up-to-date knowledge on sustainability regulations and developments/innovations;
  • Data-driven, data-enabling, and solution-oriented skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical concepts/data models and document processes;
  • The ability to work across multiple teams in a large organisation, align goals, and drive overall success independent of organisational boundaries;
  • Professional communication and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment on different projects in parallel;
  • Fluency in English, German is a plus;
  • Able to travel occasionally (up to 10%).

The estimated salary for this position is EUR 58,000 gross per year, based on industry standards and taking into account the location in Fuschl, Austria.
