Country Risk Strategist

Raiffeisen Bank International is seeking an exceptional professional to join our team as a Country Risk Strategist.

This role is part of our Global Country Risk team, which is responsible for managing political, economic, and industry trends, as well as ESG risk.

As a Country Risk Strategist, you will be responsible for evaluating country risk strategy for the entire banking group and identifying transmission channels from macroeconomic, geopolitical, and industry trends.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze economic, geopolitical trends and their transmission to industry and countries footprint with implications on RBI's strategy
  • Produce and present condensed, well-argued, and decision-enhancing analysis on countries
  • Rate and manage RBI's group appetite towards Sovereigns in emerging as well as developed markets
  • Stakeholder communication and cooperation as starting point in the risk decision making process
  • Participate in projects and data initiatives

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • High interest and curiosity in global macroeconomics, financial markets, and industry assessment, ESG from a country respective
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision of risk-relevant macroeconomic, political, and industry trend
  • Distinct analytical thinking and communication skills
  • Independent, flexible self-starter and result-oriented team-player
  • University degree in economics (if business: strong economics focus)
  • Business level command of English
  • Data skills and manipulation skills (scripting language, such as R or Python), LLM an advantage
  • Some work experience preferably in economic research/Risk Management in an international bank/institution
