About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal System Engineer to join our team at ANDRITZ, a leading global supplier of plants and equipment for hydropower, pulp and paper, aluminum, and other industries. As a Principal System Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of our green hydrogen and renewable fuel solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, specify, and clarify sub-supplied systems and static/rotating equipment for our green hydrogen and renewable fuel solutions.
  • Develop and improve business processes and project execution standards for the sourcing of equipment, systems, and packages.
  • Manage and define related template and standard specifications.
  • Organize the seamless integration of systems into our engineering tools.
  • Develop supplier relationships and define equipment standards for our solutions.
  • Select new suppliers and support the onboarding process.
  • Support the sales team by clarifying questions and preparing related sales documents.
  • Prepare inquiry specifications and lead technical clarifications with key suppliers.
  • Work closely with project management and disciplines such as piping, layout, static, and rotating equipment, electrical, and automation at the proposal and engineering phase.
  • Clarify technical solutions, collect required data, and review deliverables.
  • Optimize system solutions according to our requirements with suppliers.
  • Prepare and manage equipment and component lists.
  • Take responsibility for coordinating with all stakeholders.
  • Clarify, discuss, and present technical solutions to customers.
  • Participate in FAT, commissioning, start-up, and optimization teams.
Requirements
  • Degree-level qualification in a process, chemical, automation, or mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Minimum ten years of experience as a system engineer, with experience in the energy or petrochemical industry.
  • Practical experience of plant commissioning.
  • Ability to consult with customers and suppliers about technical design requirements.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Solution/team/customer-oriented with the confidence to act proactively.
  • Fluent in English, with another European language an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for 3 days per month on average.

In Austria, we are legally obliged to announce a gross monthly salary of €4,040 per month for this position. Depending on qualifications and professional experience, we offer a market-based salary.
