Senior Maintenance Manager

Meriton Suites are looking for a Senior Maintenance Manager to join our Sussex Street property
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating a cohesive environment between maintenance, housekeeping, and front office departments and ensuring all maintenance/painting staff are meeting service and safety standards across hotel operations and facilities, including suites, public areas, and back of house.
Your key responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and train a team of maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Develop training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge, including daily Toolbox Talks.
Create and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy, including preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Oversee the management of maintenance budgets, resources, and materials, including rostering and wage costs, ordering, etc.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of all facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Conduct regular inspections to identify issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Manage maintenance projects alongside the Hotel Manager from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialised maintenance tasks.
Utilise maintenance management software to track work orders, maintenance history, and performance metrics.
Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, budget status, and equipment performance for senior management.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulations and industry standards.
Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits.
To be successful in this role you will
Have experience leading/managing a high-performing team.
Possess knowledge of budgeting and reporting.
Have prior rostering experience.
Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Be adaptable to change.
Have 2+ years of experience working in a similar role.
Have knowledge of hotel-specific maintenance work (desirable).
