Director – Information Management Canberra ACT
Reporting to the Assistant Secretary, the Director of the Information Management Section plays a pivotal role in shaping the department's information management landscape.
This position involves not only managing our information management systems but also ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.
By offering strategic advice on information management issues and spearheading innovative initiatives, the Director is at the forefront of maturing our departments recordkeeping practices.
Additionally, the Director leads and oversees the delivery of complex, high-profile information management projects across the department.
This position is available on an ongoing basis.
Future positions may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis.
The key duties of the position include: Overseeing the execution of key Information Management projects stemming from our Information Management strategy.
Managing the helpdesk operations, providing guidance and support on information management systems and practices.
Leading the transformation of information storage and sharing methods department-wide.
Directing the ongoing program for records disposal.
Managing the transition of records to a newly appointed offsite storage vendor.
Overseeing library, records, and mail services within the team.
Managing information management governance artefacts.
Engaging with internal and external parties on information management issues and initiatives.
Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position.
The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool.
The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
