Office Location 400m from Subiaco Train StationImmediate StartThe Role Due to ongoing growth, Perseus Mining is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Subiaco office.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will prepare statutory financial statements, manage financial reporting processes, engage with auditors, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is indispensable to the success of the financial team, overseeing all financial accounting activities within the Group, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare statutory financial statements in compliance with Australian and International Financial Reporting Standards for the consolidated Group and subsidiaries.Develop supporting workpapers for half-year and full-year audits.Prepare accounting issues papers for the audit and risk committee.Lead engagement with auditors and assist in the preparation and audit of subsidiary statutory accounts.Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards across the Group.Conduct financial accounting research and provide recommendations.Assist with treasury functions and the preparation of quarterly, half-year, and annual reports.Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and creditors.Support process improvement initiatives and develop financial control systems.About you Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, ideally in a corporate role within a multinational mining company or a leading global accounting firm, in addition to:
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with non-finance staff and drive change.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business databases.High attention to detail and accuracy.Passion for understanding and educating others on financial reporting.Familiarity with Pronto or SAP ERP systems.Ability to produce high-quality reports, policies, and action plans.Minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry.Passion for process improvement.Strong preference for a collaborative work environment.Highly Desirable Previous experience implementing a new ERP systemQualifications & Licences: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and Finance or equivalentWhere you'll be working This position is based in Perseus's Subiaco office, with a corporate team of roughly 40 employees and growing.
You'll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
