Job Description - Estimating Manager - Transmissions (258036) We're changing the way Australia generates its energy, are you ready for a change? UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors.
Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.
Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia.
Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures.
Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.
The Role The Estimating Manager (Transmission) is responsible for leading and providing estimating expertise across the Utilities business to ensure we foster competitive winning edge on new work to establish cost-effective estimates which meets agreed contractual arrangements and Client's scope.
Your Team will be responsible for building estimates across a wide range of tenders, utilising UGL's estimating software, CATS.
The role can be based in either Sydney or Brisbane and you will be required to manage a team of Transmission Line estimators across multiple states.
Key responsibilities of this role include: Provide support to the group by monitoring workload and progress to ensure the most effective use of resources and assessing resourcing needs to meet business objectives.Consult with operational departments to establish requirements and detail the accuracy of tender pricing.Attend pre-award and post tender meetings with the wider Pre-Contracts Team responding to any queries or to understanding requirements.
