The ACEREZ consortium, which includes the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), has been appointed Preferred Proponent to design and construct the transmission line infrastructure for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ), as part of Australia's energy transition, outlined in the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state's newly legislated Net Zero targets.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Sustainability Coordinator to share their expertise within our growing Environmental & Sustainability team.
In this role, you will guide and implement sustainability initiatives to minimise environmental impacts, enhance social benefits, and promote economic prosperity.
You will develop and integrate sustainability strategies into project planning, design, construction, and operation, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of a sustainability strategy and action plan aligned with project objectives and best practices.
Sustainability data capture and reporting (including energy, greenhouse gas emissions, water, waste, and materials).
Conduct assessments to identify opportunities and risks related to environmental, social, and economic impacts.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate sustainability into design, procurement, and construction phases.
Coordinate stakeholder engagement to gather input and foster support for sustainability initiatives.
Monitor and report on sustainability performance indicators, tracking progress and identifying areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with sustainability requirements, regulations, and standards, providing guidance and support to project teams.
Preparation of sustainability rating submissions.
Minimum Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Previous experience in sustainability advisory roles, preferably within the infrastructure or construction industry.
Candidates with previous experience as a site engineer, environmental coordinator, or similar roles looking to move into the sustainability field are also welcomed to apply.
Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives and driving measurable improvements on large-scale projects.
Knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability policies, and green building codes relevant to infrastructure development.
Experience conducting sustainability assessments, life cycle analyses, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Familiarity with sustainability assessment tools and software applications (e.g., LCA software, ISC Rating tool, Green Star rating tool).
Certification or professional accreditation in sustainability (e.g., ISAP, GSAP, LEED AP, GRI Certified Sustainability Professional) is advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, presentations, and sustainability communications materials.
Excellent organisational and data management skills.
