Medical Specialists (Healthcare & Medical)Full timeThe Proposals Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end proposal development process for SCR's clinical research projects.
This role requires a deep understanding of clinical trial operations, budgeting and sponsor/client needs as well as the ability to coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders to develop comprehensive, competitive and sponsor/client focused proposals.Provide direction, strategy and thought leadership on proposal related projects and initiatives.Help to build business development and proposal/budget creation capability across the organization.Proposal Development and StrategyLead the development, review, and finalization of proposal/budget development for both Health Volunteer and Oncology projects.
Facilitate the update of existing clinical trial budgets as required.Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and sponsor/client requirements to determine scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Strive to ensure that SCR achieves a 4-working day KPI, in terms of receipt of RFP to providing the proposal/quotation back to the client.Create detailed project budgets, timelines, and resource plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Prepare and present proposal summaries, budgets, and study designs to management for approval.Support the Director, Corporate and Business Development to achieve quotation efficiencies and ensure consistency across proposals in relation to study margins and project profitability.Develop and continuously improve proposal development processes with a primary focus on increasing sponsor/client engagement during the proposal and bidding process.Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and client/sponsors throughout the proposal development process.
Provide advice, support and guidance as needed to colleagues for proposal and budget related items.Work closely with business development, project management, clinical operations, quality and finance teams to gather input and ensure accurate cost and timeline estimates.Evaluate protocols to assess project requirements, identify discrepancies and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to resolve issues, create solutions to sponsor/client needs and enhance SCR's competitive positioning in the proposal development lifecycle.Participate in sponsor/client calls, presentations and bid defence/customer meetings, partner Governance meetings as required and support with the development of CTRAs for specific projects.On occasion liaise with external third parties, such as key SCR vendors for the purposes of developing accurate and timely quotations.Quality & Continuous ImprovementReview all proposals for quality, consistency, formatting and accuracy before submission to ensure compliance with sponsor/client specifications and organizational standards.Develop and maintain a library of proposal templates, standard text, and cost structures to improve/streamline the proposal process.Track, analyze and report on proposal KPIs and outcomes to refine processes and improve win rates.Provide education, training and mentoring to internal stakeholders to improve understanding and effectiveness of the proposal development process.Other Responsibilities:Maintain a focus and actively work towards attainment of all corporate goals (including but not limited to revenue, sales, and employee retention) and support the implementation of proposal and costing strategies to achieve those goals.Support the Business & Corporate Development Director with sponsor/client and other external stakeholder (such as CROs) engagement, when required, to support the proposal development process.Actively pursue ongoing personal development and training to stay updated on trends in clinical research, industry regulatory changes, industry standards and competitor practices to inform proposal strategies.
Maintain personal training record accordingly.Perform other reasonable proposal and contract duties as discussed and agreed with the SCR Manager.Behavioral SkillsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop accurate cost and project timelines.Strong attention to detail.
Ensures accuracy and compliance in proposal documentation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with different stakeholders on proposal development.Strong relationship management skills.
Ability to engage, build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.Flexible and adaptable working in a fast paced and dynamic early phase clinical trial environment.
Ability to respond to rapidly changing business needs.Technical SkillsStrong and detailed knowledge of the CRO landscape, and early phase clinical trials with an understanding of the issues/concerns and decision drivers of stakeholders as they go through the bidding process.Demonstrated experience across Healthy Volunteer and Oncology clinical trials.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for budgeting and financial modelling and understanding of costing model to assess project margin.Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce) experience preferred.Qualifications / ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Life Science, Business Management or related field.Minimum 5 years' experience or equivalent in proposal development, preferably with a site based clinical research organization ideally working across both healthy volunteer and oncology trials.Proven experience in clinical trial budgeting, financial analysis and clinical operational processes.#J-18808-Ljbffr
