We are looking for a part-time (30.4 hours) or full time Financial Accountant to join our motivated and high performing Finance team.
Based in our Osborne Park office and reporting to the Team Lead - Financial Accounting, this role will suit someone who enjoys variety in their daily tasks and works well in a team environment.
The role will include some month end reporting with a compliance focus, as well as process improvement project work.
This role touches on all entities within The West Australian Newspaper Group and will require a strong desire to understand the unique business in which we operate.
Experience within a busy commercial environment, CPA/CA qualification (or working towards), exposure to an ERP system and familiarity with reporting deadlines are some key skills you bring to this role.
Exposure to tax including BAS reporting, FBT or income tax would also be highly regarded.
You won't be in this alone, we have a strong collaborative team that you will be part of
About the Role: Monthly reporting processes, including:Responsibility for 'Digital' accounting and reporting, including analysis of resultsAccounting for contra arrangements with partnersLease accounting journals (AASB 16)Accrued revenue / expense managementCreation and processing of other journals as requiredAssist with completion of Group reporting schedulesBalance sheet reconciliationsAccounting compliance tasks including:Preparation FBT schedules to support Group submission of returnsAssistance with income tax schedules for tax effect accountingFinance review credit card transactionsAssisting with audit queriesSupporting financial accounting team to drive change in identified project areas, including but not limited to:BAS reportingInventory costing / reporting / impairmentFixed asset management / software capitalisationAbout You: CPA/CA qualified or nearing completionCommercial and public practice experience highly regardedExcellent attention to detailSelf-motivation, strong communicator and growth mindsetFlexibility and willingness to take on additional responsibilities within the team as requiredAbout the Benefits: Salary sacrifice packaging and a paid parental leave policyFlexible working arrangementsAn Osborne Park location with an onsite café, free gym and parkingAn employee Perks program, health and wellbeing support program and moreApply now Join us at Seven West Media and be a part of our success story.
