Base Salary: from $79,803.60 (pro-rata) + Super 11.5% & Benefits.

About the Role We are seeking a compassionate, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioner for a permanent, part time (36 hours per week) opportunity at the Step-Up Step-Down residential service in Mackay. In this role, you will provide intensive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve their wellbeing goals, build capacity and daily living skills, strengthen social connections, enhance community networks and grow confidence to live independently in the community.
About the Service The Sub-Acute short stay Adult Step-Up Step-Down (ASUSD) residential service, delivered in partnership with Mackay Hospital and Health Service, supports adults with a psychosocial disability up to 28 days transitioning from a hospital setting back into the community or to prevent admissions whilst residing in the community. ASUSD works within a recovery focused, clinical treatment framework providing personalised one-on-one support, shared supports and group activities based on client's strengths and goals as identified in their recovery plan.
Key Responsibilities Deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.Support clients to re-engage with family and friends, create community connections, develop life skills, and enjoy a positive future through a staged approach to recovery.Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client's recovery goals.What You'll Bring Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.Able to provide a record of Vaccination Preventable Diseases or able to obtain vaccinations against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B or other diseases as required by our Partnership with QLD Health.Benefits Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Converge International, for you and your immediate family members.Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.Interested?
