El2 Enterprise Architect

The RoleReporting to the Director of Architecture, the Enterprise Architect will work as part of the architecture team.
You may be asked to develop architecture standards, consult with relevant stakeholders, and work directly with senior management and delivery teams on matters relating to standards and architectures.
You will work collaboratively with other Architects and technical platform SMEs on DEWR's digital solutions.You will manage complex solution architecture challenges and decisions, working with the teams to design modern and scalable applications and solutions.
You will provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced staff as needed on matters related to DEWR's digital systems.As a senior technical specialist, you will not have any staff supervisory responsibilities.You will provide knowledge leadership.
As part of your leadership responsibilities, you will work to communicate and explain architecture issues and decisions to various business and technical executives.
You will work closely with senior technical resources to build knowledge and understanding of architecture practices as part of capability building within the department and the division.You will report on the work of your area.
You will actively work to identify and manage issues that block progress and escalate to the Director of Architecture and Chief Architect as required.
You will work to refine processes and approaches to improve team practices and delivery and may be part of forward planning of architecture direction.You will work independently under broad direction to deliver agreed objectives and outcomes.The successful applicant will receive the necessary training, mentoring, and guidance to perform the key responsibilities of the role and to advance their careers in the Australian Public Service (APS).The key duties of the position includeDesign, document, and manage DEWR's Enterprise Architecture principles, associated reference architectures, roadmaps, and standards - including assessing architectural and business risk.Align Enterprise Architecture with DEWR's strategic purpose and outcomes and Whole of Government directions.Provide architectural guidance and leadership for sound decision-making by providing expert advice that considers business processes and the longer-term strategic roadmap.Assist solution teams, working with the Solution Architect to understand a project's outcomes and identify reusability opportunities.Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, tools, and standards as a contribution towards continuous improvements and technology opportunities within DEWR.Participate in Whole of Government initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert as required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
