Senior Google Cloud Engineer

Our client, a large ASX-listed business, is currently seeking a Senior Google Cloud Engineer to join their dynamic IT team as they go through an exciting new cloud journey.
They are about to start a GCP Landing Zone design, build, and rollout.
Phase 2 will then kick off with enterprise applications being migrated to GCP.
They are looking for someone who has experience building GCP from the ground up, who can help them set up production-ready automation, security, and engineering best practices across Cloud Networking, Infrastructure, and DevOps, as well as working closely with the team on reference architecture.
In this pivotal new role, you will be responsible for various aspects of GCP cloud infrastructure, like provisioning, design, implementation, automation, monitoring, security, and performance optimisation of their IT systems.
The goal is to uplift the maturity of the GCP Cloud Foundations and be the GCP subject matter expert within the Cloud and Core Infrastructure Engineering team.
Key Experience Required:3+ years' experience as a Cloud Engineer on GCP public cloud environmentsProven experience in designing and implementing robust GCP Landing Zones / Cloud Foundations including expertise in the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), governance, guardrails, security, role-based access control (RBAC), cloud interconnects, and policy frameworks.Experience in Cloud Operations on the GCP platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Strong core IT infrastructure / networking / systems administration background, managing both Windows and Linux server operating systems, with the ability to troubleshoot issues on Windows / Linux on GCP Foundations.In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Services like App Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Bigtable, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud DNS, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Load Balancing, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), VPC Service Controls & Identity & Access Management (IAM).Why Join?Hybrid work model, with only one day a week in the office and four days WFH (you're welcome to go into the office more if you wish) - Office locations are Sydney CBD or Richmond in Melbourne.
