So this is a unique career opportunity to be part of our epic growth story.The OpportunityYou will report directly to our Financial Controller and you will lead and manage the Finance Operations (FinOps) team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.What you'll be doingCoordinate the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely mannerSupervise the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, deductions, and taxesEnsure compliance with statutory requirements for financial submissions and reporting, including tax filings, regulatory reports, and statutory auditsLead a high-performing team providing clear performance expectations and ongoing coaching, mentorship, and feedback to support professional growth.Prepare and publish financial reports and analysis to the executive team and senior leaders, including key performance indicators (KPIs), financial forecasts, and variance analysisLead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and boost team efficiencyThe ideal toolboxCPA or CA with 10 years financial and management accounting experienceProblem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to identify issues and suggest solutionsPeople management - experience managing remote teams is desirableDemonstrated ability to deliver accurate, insightful, timely reportingExperience in a retail environment accounting for inventory (ideal)Excellent communication, stakeholder management and team-building skillsExperience with NetSuite (highly desirable) or other online accounting softwareSound technical financial accounting and reporting skills with exposure to ensuring compliance in a regulatory frameworkDemonstrated continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline FinOps workflows and enhance efficiency and accuracyTask management skills and ability to create and follow processes must be exceptionalMust have very strong attention to detail completing all work in a timely manner and managing stakeholder expectations well at all timesProactive with a 'can do' attitude and willingness to learn new thingsWillingness to be involved in value-add activities across the business including board reporting, financial analysis and stock controlJuicy PerksHeaps of development opportunities - stretch projects, focus groups & secondmentsFlexible working environmentUp to 50% employee discountProduct sample giveawaysPawrental leave and wellbeing leaveTeam charity volunteer daysClasspass subsidyRole locationWe believe that building connections and collaborating as Pet Circlers is super important.
