What you'll be doing
The Paediatric Eating Disorder Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) works as part of the NSLHD Virtual Eating Disorder Service to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, direct nursing care and consultation to paediatric consumers (People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners' Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three (3) years full-time equivalent clinical experience working with child and adolescent consumers with Eating Disorders and their families/carers or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of people with feeding and eating disorders using evidence-based interventions.
In particular, demonstrated knowledge of the use of CBT-E, Family Based Therapy, trauma-informed care, telehealth and virtual models of care, and delivery of group therapies in treatment and meal support.
Demonstrated ability to utilise advanced clinical reasoning, advocacy, and care planning skills to provide and organise developmentally appropriate health care for adult consumers with eating disorders and their families/carers.
High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and demonstrated capacity to engage, negotiate, and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (such as multidisciplinary healthcare providers, GPs, non-government and other government agencies) for a client group who are experiencing complex mental health issues.
Demonstrated high-level computer literacy and capacity to use health-related information technology systems.
