As a Marine Technical Officer, you will:
Gather relevant technical information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate, to provide technical and research support to practical teaching and research programs Provide technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of specialised instrumentation in the discipline area and prepare materials for classes Promote and apply Occupational Health and Safety standards across the school environments especially those involving research and teaching laboratory activities Coordinate on a day-to-day basis, within the designated area of responsibility, materials and equipment requirements of staff and students for the running of practical teaching classes within the specified disciplines of expertise Maintain stock control procedures in conjunction with the Technical Coordinator on an ongoing basis Trial new experiments and modify existing experiments to ensure the optimal smooth running of practicals within the designated area of responsibility To be successful, you'll have:
Completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in a suitable biological science without subsequent relevant work experience; or Completion of an Associate Diploma and at least two years subsequent relevant work experience; or An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training Experience working in a related field or discipline in higher education or a similar large complex environment Good knowledge of OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) principles and an understanding of the requirements for safety when working with biological and chemical hazards Here's how to apply:
