**ABOUT THE TEAM**

As Merchant Risk Manager you will be reporting to the Head of Acquiring Risk. You'll be working from one of the Unzer offices whereby travelling to the other offices on an exceptional basis will be part of the job. We expect you to actively contribute to the team's strive for excellence.

**What your work will look like**:

- You’ll help to manage and oversee the merchant risk program, including identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks associated with payment card processing, alternative payments, and fraud prevention.
- You’ll monitor merchant transaction data to identify potentially fraudulent activity and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve incidents.
- You’ll provide training and support to internal teams and external partners on merchant risk management, fraud prevention, and chargeback management.
- You’ll ensure Risk data quality.

**What you need to be successful in this role**:

- Knowledge of the payment industry or relevant experience in the banking industry.
- High-risk underwriting knowledge, including experience in assessing and managing high-risk merchants and industries, is preferable.
- 2+ years’ experience within payments-related and/or risk management positions.
- Analytical, problem-solving skills with an eye for detail and willingness to challenge the status quo ongoingly.
- You are comfortable working with data, interpreting results, and using BI tools or SQL to support decision-making processes.
- Fluency verbally and in writing in English is mandatory, German is a plus
