This position is located in the Global Technical Team (GTT) in the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management (DGACM), Vienna. The incumbent reports to the Computational Linguist in gMeets team.

**Responsibilities**:
Within delegated authority, the Senior Information Systems Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

- Drafts correspondence and communications; including work plan revisions and other related issues, as well as prepares unit contributions for a variety of periodic reports.
- Keeps abreast of developments in the field; conducts research on new technologies; performs benchmarking and proposes new acquisitions; assists in the implementation of new technologies.
- Provides guidance and training to new/junior staff as required.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience
A minimum of ten years of experience in information systems analysis and programming, systems design and maintenance, software development, or related area is required.

Experience in Azure Cloud Services with complex multi-layer architecture including message queues, database connections, REST, or API's is required.

Experience in designing and developing using VueJs or Angular is required.

Experience in Azure DevOps Services or Team Foundation Services (TFS) or GIT is desirable.

Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium Web Driver or Selenoid is desirable.

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
