Automotive Industry Business Development Manager – VIC Metro BG of Australia Location: Melbourne, VIC Salary: A$70,000–100,000 p/a Work mode: Hybrid Posted 1 day ago Automotive Industry Territory Manager – Sales – VIC Metro BG of Australia is the leading supplier of professional-use, high-performance automotive products and service equipment. Our brand is known for technical excellence and trusted by workshops and dealerships across the country. We are seeking an experienced sales professional with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets in the automotive aftermarket. This role requires someone who can confidently grow our Melbourne metro territory, retain and expand existing accounts, and consistently deliver strong sales results. You will report to the VIC Sales Manager. While our office is based in Preston, you will only be required onsite on Monday mornings for meetings; the rest of the week, you will work autonomously and commence your call cycle from home. Key Responsibilities Sales Growth & Territory Management Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through effective planning, prospecting, and account management. Sell BG products and services to existing customers and new prospects within the assigned territory. Maintain a strong call cycle, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with measurable outcomes. Product Demonstrations & Training Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to both new and existing customers. Deliver training sessions independently or with support from BG technical and sales personnel. Negotiation & Closing Negotiate confidently and close sales in line with BG Australia's pricing and policy guidelines. Build and maintain strong relationships that drive repeat business. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate CRM records, customer data, and sales reports. Provide regular market intelligence, performance updates, and competitor insights. Industry Engagement Attend trade shows, conferences, and meetings as required. Stay current on industry trends, customer needs, and market conditions to support continuous improvement and innovation. What We’re Looking For A strong and proven sales track record, ideally in the automotive aftermarket or related industry. Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive environment. Excellent prospecting skills, negotiation capability, and closing ability. Strong communication and presentation skills. High levels of self-motivation, discipline, and professionalism. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team culture. Strong customer relationship management skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. Valid driver’s licence. Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales representative or similar role within the automotive industry or closely related field.
