Overview Girrawheen Senior High School (SHS) is proud to be part of the Connected Community School trial, a four-year, Department of Education initiative that is part of the Better and Fairer School Agreement. The Role We are seeking a motivated, dynamic and community-minded Program Coordinator to work in collaboration with the School Principal to build and maintain strategic partnerships, positively engage with our families and lead Girrawheen Senior High School’s Connected Community School trial initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a whole-school approach that strengthens partnerships, builds positive community relationships and supports students and their families to improve student wellbeing, learning and life outcomes. As the Program Coordinator, you will be instrumental in implementing a responsive place-based approach that strengthens and brings together services and supports that meet the needs and aspirations of our students and their families. You will identify opportunities through the trial to build on existing school supports for students to transition to high school and attain their academic and career goals. You will work with staff and our school community to support established programs and partnership initiatives and to implement locally led, culturally safe and inclusive approaches to better address local needs, such as facilitating access to services and activities on the school site to help remove barriers to access. This position is part of our Connected Community School team, comprising of Community Support Coordinator and Administration Officer. You will also work closely with our established Student Services team. Experience working within a Student Services team is desirable, with the ability to build genuine trust and connection with students and the wider school community, including but not limited to service providers, other government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, sporting groups, community language groups and community organisations. The position requires highly effective interpersonal and communication skills and the capacity to monitor, evaluate and report on Connected Community School trial activities and developments.
