About the role Join the Strategy, Planning and Performance Directorate as a Senior Project Officer working in the Planning and Projects Team or the Strategy and Performance Team. The Program and Project Team is responsible for the Department’s Business Planning process and Program Management Framework and Office. It works in collaboration with Divisions, Offices and their Program and Project Managers to help implement strategic programs and projects. It supports Executive Sub-Committees through their monitoring and decision-making. It is responsible for creating an Innovation Framework and Program of work to influence a culture of continuous improvement, trials and tests to improve daily work life and performance. Your aim will be to help the team coordinate with Divisions and Officers on strategic programs, business planning, innovation and project delivery to help drive results. You will also assist in establishing new Frameworks and practices surrounding these functions, including a Project Management Office and Innovation Program. This may include facilitating workshops, program and project management, innovation trials and benefits reporting. Project Management certification or qualifications are desirable. The Strategy and Performance Team is responsible for coordinating the Department’s Strategic Plan, maintaining situational awareness of future changes impacting the Department’s success, coordiating Executive strategy sessions, preapring materials and papers for Executive decision making, strategic project and program management, as well asoptions assessments and business cases. This team has a stronger focus on evidence-based decision making and performance analysis than the other and will be responsible for the Department’s Annual Report. We are looking for people with the following: Program and project management experience who can drive results, and an understanding of strategy and business planning as tools to prioritise effort. Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with Executive and Senior Leaders, including collaborating and facilitating workshops with teams to refine big ideas into tangible action. Ability to think strategically, analyse information and synthesise it into clear insights for Executive and Senior Leaders.
