Principal Data Analyst, Queensland Health Are you looking for a new adventure? Come join Population Health Division as a Principal Data Analyst where you will provide specialist technical expertise to accelerate the delivery of high-priority analytical outputs and surveillance dashboards. Key Responsibilities Lead reporting deliverables which include extracting data from Public Health applications and other sources, using advanced data extraction techniques, importing and merging data into reports, creating dashboards and report templates, producing reports, analysing data and interpreting results, developing and delivering key findings. Develop complex analysis and reports from Public Health applications and other data to provide business-critical information to Public Health Intelligence leadership, and support strategic and operational decision-making. Lead the development, implementation and review of procedures and development standards in relation to data transformation, report design and development including the active participation in knowledge sharing and mentoring and skills transfer with colleagues. Role fit The essential requirements for this role are: Demonstrated experience in reporting on large, complex data sets. This includes proficiency in appropriate tools, such as relational database management systems; data exploration, visualisation and dashboard tools; and data analysis and automation tools, especially Power BI. Strong understanding of data and databases, for example, registries, population survey data and administrative datasets. Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Stata and SQL would be an advantage. Demonstrated experience in critically analysing and interpreting data to identify patterns and trends in data. This includes experience in developing knowledge and useful and actionable intelligence from raw data. Why work with us?
