National Registry Officer – Wellington Based (Multiple Positions) Job Overview At the Ministry of Justice, we put our customers at the forefront of everything we do. The work of our Centralised Services is pivotal in supporting Courts and Tribunals in enabling access to justice and delivering quality services to the people of Aotearoa. The Contact Centre is the first point of contact for anyone calling the Ministry, from wondering what time their local court opens, to queries about Jury Duty or questions about upcoming hearings. All our calls are unique, and every touch‑point in this team is viewed as an opportunity to help people. We do so one‑call at a time with respect and kindness at the forefront. This role is primarily focused on taking calls and, in time, learning other tasks delivered across Centralised Services. These include data entry, processing customer applications, and responding to correspondence. The National Registry Officer role includes exercising powers as a Deputy Registrar of the District Court. Key Responsibilities Provide helpful and caring customer service for all involved in our Justice system. Ensure our customers have all the information they need. Take responsibility for processing applications and related data entry tasks. Respond to correspondence and support the Centralised Services team as required. Exercise powers as a Deputy Registrar of the District Court. Salary The remuneration band for this role is $60,729 to $80,794 – the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience. How to Apply We will run an assessment centre via Teams. During this assessment‑centre we will talk to you about the role, run a group exercise and conduct a role play assessment. If progressed from the assessment centre, you will be invited to an in‑person interview. Working hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Anticipated start date: Monday 9 March 2026.
