Manager, Preschool Reform Policy and Provision Planning

Management (Community Services & Development)Government - State (Government & Defence)Full time$125,970 to $125,970 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superAbout this roleWe are looking for a Principal Policy Officer or Manager to support the design and implementation of 3-year-old preschool and supporting early childhood reforms. This role plays an important part in contributing to leadership and expertise across policy formulation and planning. A key function of this role is the development of an infrastructure strategy and the leadership of a team overseeing infrastructure planning and grants processes. The role will more broadly assist with strategic planning and forecasting to assist the sector and government to plan for the rollout of three year old preschool.The Manager, Policy and Provision will work collaboratively to support well-informed strategic decision-making that ensures accessible and efficient delivery of high-quality preschool education services across South Australia. This includes involvement in the development of early childhood strategies and policies, with a focus on the formulation of provisioning and infrastructure strategies.What you will do (key outcomes)Lead and manage policy analysis and provide advice on early childhood development, preschool programs, infrastructure policy and programs, local planning, and broader educational policiesLead and manage the development of provide high quality and relevant advice, reports and analyses to inform budget setting and decision-making processes.Lead and coordinate high performing staff, as required across the team, to deliver, improve and automate analysis, data and reports, including establishing goals and objectives, delivering effective performance reviews, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring data and information are tailored to the intended audience to maximise its value.Establish and manage relationships, partnerships and networks with executive management and key internal and external stakeholders across education and government agencies, to help to identify needs, refine broad requirements and define the form that effective analysis solutions might take.Help to maintain a safe and healthy working environment by proactively reporting incidents, hazards and injuries.The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
