Academy for Medical Education Part-time (30%), permanent position. Base salary will be in the range $140,293 - $161,518 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C) Based at our Herston Campus About This Opportunity This role leads the academic oversight of student selection and recruitment across the Medical School's three education programs, ensuring we attract talented, well-prepared students who will thrive at UQ and contribute to the diverse communities our graduates serve. You will shape and coordinate key selection processes, including mini-multiple interviews and related activities, work closely with prospective student marketing, and play an active role in outreach that highlights the transformational learning experience UQ offers. Key responsibilities will include Teaching: Lead the design, delivery and continuous enhancement of evidence-based student selection processes—including curriculum and assessment components, training and coordination of mini-multiple interviews, development of high-quality selection stations, and provision of academic advice to prospective applicants. Drive engagement, leadership and quality assurance across admissions and outreach—collaborating with internal teams and external partners, contributing to marketing and community engagement activities, representing the Medical School on relevant committees, and overseeing ongoing evaluation and reporting to support excellence in recruitment. Teaching Impact / Research / Scholarship of Learning and Teaching: Advance evidence-informed medical education by applying best-practice research to curriculum design, contributing to improvements in knowledge, practice and policy, and collaborating on projects that enhance teaching and learning. Supervision and Researcher Development: Provide high-quality research supervision and model exemplary, responsible research practice to support strong supervision outcomes and uphold the highest standards of research conduct. Citizenship and Service: Model UQ values through professional conduct and continuous development by fostering a respectful, inclusive and culturally safe environment; engaging in ongoing professional learning and mandatory training; and contributing actively to governance and working groups across the MD Program, Medical School, Faculty and University. About the Office of Teaching & Learning (Medical School) Located within the UQ Medical School, the Office of Teaching and Learning oversees the quality of teaching, learning, student selection and experience across three education programs (Doctor of Medicine, Master of Mental Health, and Master of Medicine - Skin Cancer). The Office also oversees educator development and strengthens proposals for continuing enhancement, new and revised education programs, and changes to student selection procedures. The Office works alongside Medical School program teams to promote teaching excellence, facilitate student success, and produce safe and effective healthcare practitioners. About You Tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to medical programs. Strong knowledge of contemporary university admissions policies and selection methods, particularly in healthcare education. Proven educational leadership with impact on teaching and assessment practices. Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and build effective relationships across diverse academic stakeholders. Commitment to promoting equity, inclusivity and diversity, supported by strong scholarship of teaching and learning. Capacity to represent the Medical School effectively in healthcare, academic and community contexts, with high-level interpersonal and communication skills. It is desirable to have a Healthcare qualification and experience as a healthcare practitioner.
