About the role This is a varied and busy role for a junior accounting professional who has recently finished university, or for an experienced person returning to the workforce, working with a close knit team of 12 people. Our client is a high profile NSW government department that provides a vast range of online services and collects revenue on behalf of numerous government agencies. This is a junior finance role with administrative duties - mentoring, coaching and training available until you come up to speed. This is a "hands on role", whereby the finance officer will be responsible for supporting business and financial operations across the division and educating and stakeholders to develop financial capability and improve accountability in financial business decision making. Responsibilities Daily transaction matching of payments - card / EFT / cheque payments Assist with the month end account reconciliations by closing out items and identifying reconciling items Matching receipts and investigating variances Provide support and respond to enquiries to ensure the provision of accurate information and quality service delivery Provide financial administration support in the daily reconciliation process Contribute to process improvement strategies to address identified inefficiencies and ensure required processes are established to meet changing needs Provide support to audit and early close deliverables Other ad hoc administration duties when required Skills and Experience Must be a junior accounting professional, who has recently finished university, or be an experienced person returning to the workforce Experience with processing and supporting high volume / low value transactions Skills in Excel Experience in SharePoint an advantage (not essential) Must be highly motivated and willing to learn Contact Consultant: Colin Massey We encourage and support applications from people with a disability.
