If you don't see an opportunity in your area, please call or email Job Description As a HammondCare Biography Writing or Editing volunteer in Western Sydney your listening and writing skills will allow HammondCare community clients to record their stories, memories, and messages for loved ones.Ever wondered what stories a fireman, country music fan, and footy lover might have to share? Join our Life stories program and spend 6–8 weeks visiting a remarkable man with a rich past. Once a fireman responding to road accidents and a lifelong love of country music. Originally from WA, now in Sydney, he enjoys football, lawn bowls, and the sounds of George Strait and Clint Black. Your time will help turn his memories into a lasting gift for his family. Help Capture a Life Well Lived, One Story at a Time Ideally, you'll have the following skills- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word- 50 words per minute typing skills- Ability to work independently and problem solve- Own car to drive to the home of the Client- Willingness to learn new technology and software. You will be using a Dictaphone and a transcription software program- Availability for a long term commitment and up-to 5 hours per week.The transcription and editing process can occur in the evenings, while the face-to-face interview will occuron aweekday (Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm)for one hour.
