Social Media and Marketing at Brown Women Comedy & ASAC Melbourne (80% remote) | 15 h/week | $495 per week (FTE 65k P/A) | Project based contract for 18 weeks (potential for extension) Brown Women Comedy is Australia’s only feminist comedy show featuring under‑represented Indian and South Asian women comedians. The Australian South Asian Centre amplifies voices of South Asian women‑creators. What you’ll be doing: Content creation, editing, and repurposing across Instagram and LinkedIn (~12–16 posts/month, 4–6 reels/month, monthly content calendar) Develop comedic and inspirational content featuring stories of South Asian change‑makers. Plan content calendar with team feedback. Write copy & newsletters, schedule posts, monitor performance. Support community event promotion and new event ideation. Handle admin tasks: research, reporting, email inquiries, DM responses, campaign tracking. Stay current with social media & marketing trends. Research international touring & expansion opportunities for BWC. You’ll thrive in this role if you: Love learning, experimenting, and trying new things. Have basic content creation skills (Canva ok). Can film and edit short‑form content (behind‑the‑camera expertise). Can edit reels from longer videos. Can work weekends/evenings during comedy season (mid March–mid April). Are super‑organised and enjoy checklists (Monday.com system). Communicate clearly, kindly, and collaboratively. Seek feedback proactively and grow. Are excited about culture, community, comedy, poetry, and empowering women of colour. Bring enthusiastic, curious, positive energy. Can document systems and improve workflows; AI & Zapier experience a bonus. Can manage organized chaos and quick pace. Want to shape the BWC / ASAC story.
