State Manager

The organisation is now expanding into Victoria and seeking a State Manager to lead and build the new branch. Work is evenly split between service and projects , covering wet fire, dry fire, residential, commercial, construction and industrial . The organisation is now establishing its Victorian branch to mirror its successful QLD operations. Role Overview The State Manager – Victoria will lead and build the new Melbourne branch, overseeing all wet and dry fire service operations, projects, compliance and client relationships . This position is ideal for someone coming from a Service Manager or Senior T2/T3 Technician background who understands both wet and dry fire systems in a hands‑on, operational environment. You will be the primary point of contact for all Victorian operations and responsible for growing the team from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Establish and manage daily operations of the new VIC branch. Build and develop a high‑performing wet & dry fire team as the branch scales. Set up systems, processes and culture aligned with NSW/QLD operations. Wet & Dry Fire Service Management Lead and deliver service contracts, maintenance schedules, inspections and testing across: Dry Fire: fire detection, fire alarms, EWIS, occupant warning systems, smoke control. Wet Fire: sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps, tanks. Provide T2/T3‑level technical support and troubleshooting for field teams. Ensure all works meet relevant Australian Standards and compliance requirements. Business Development & Client Engagement Act as the main client contact in VIC, maintaining strong relationships across residential, commercial, construction and industrial sectors. Identify and pursue new service and project opportunities. Support tendering, quoting, pricing and proposal development. Leverage industry networks to win new industrial and commercial clients. Project Oversight (as Vic team grows) Support project delivery, working with Project Managers on wet & dry fire projects from $100k–$2M. Coordinate between service and projects to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction. People Leadership Recruit, train, mentor and manage technicians across wet and dry fire. Build a cohesive, high‑performing team culture based on accountability and growth. Drive performance, workforce planning and professional development as the branch expands. Experience & Skills Required Strong background as a Service Manager or Senior T2/T3 Technician within fire protection. Technical expertise across both wet and dry fire systems. Proven ability to lead service delivery and manage high‑volume operations. Experience with quoting, client management and business development. Ability to build and scale a branch from scratch.
