Contracts & Procurement Manager Ampol is a leading energy company operating across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States. As an essential part of our Group teams, the Contracts & Procurement Manager will lead the execution of our procurement strategy across Ampol. Location Sydney, Australia Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation of the procurement function’s strategic objectives, translating organisational goals into actionable plans and ensuring alignment with cost optimisation, risk management, ESG commitments and value creation across all categories. Oversee and develop a high‑performing team of category managers, fostering collaboration, capability building and continuous improvement to deliver best‑in‑class sourcing, contract management and supplier performance outcomes. Act as a key liaison to senior leadership, delivering clear, data‑driven reporting on procurement performance, strategic initiatives and market trends, enabling informed decision‑making and reinforcing the function’s contribution to business success. Qualifications Proven track record managing procurement functions or large category portfolios within complex organisations. Demonstrated ability to translate organisational objectives into procurement strategies and deliver measurable outcomes. Deep understanding of category planning, sourcing strategies and supplier relationship management. Strong influencing and communication skills to build relationships with senior leaders and across the business. Experience leading, coaching and developing high‑performing teams of category managers, driving performance and capability development. Demonstrated success in delivering cost savings, supplier innovation and risk mitigation through strategic sourcing. Skilled in drafting, negotiating and managing complex enterprise contracts to mitigate risk and maximise value. Background in contract law or commercial agreements, with strong negotiation experience. Experience with ESG and sustainability initiatives integrated into procurement strategies. Advanced proficiency in procurement technology platforms (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa) and data analytics tools, with an ability to interpret data, market trends and financial impacts to inform decision‑making.
