Casual Facilities Maintenance Officer

About the role Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Casual Facilities Maintenance Officer is responsible for a range of tasks including general maintenance, minor repairs, groundskeeping, the upkeep of tools and equipment, and overseeing building security and access. The primary focus of this role is to carry out general maintenance across the school grounds. From time to time, work may also be required at Melbourne High School’s Outdoor Education Centre in Millgrove, located within the Shire of Yarra Ranges (approximately 63 kilometres east of Melbourne’s CBD). The position also involves supporting building management activities, such as completing scheduled maintenance tasks and assisting with the coordination of external contractors and trades. About you Driver’s licence preferred Key Selection Criteria Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively and adapt to changing needs. Willingness to take on a range of tasks within the school environment. Ability to work independently as required. Practical skills in general maintenance, repairs, and use of tools and equipment. Commitment to maintaining a safe and tidy environment for students, staff, and visitors. Good communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, contractors, and the school community.
