At Mulberry, we don't just set the standard—we build it About the Role We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and professional Estimator to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in pricing projects, ensuring accuracy in cost estimates, and maintaining our high standards of service. This role is ideal for someone with a background in estimating, carpentry or extensive knowledge of the building and construction industry. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, and specifications. Prepare and send tenders/quotes with accuracy and efficiency. Perform take-offs and create Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for tenders/estimates. Apply trade mark-ups and issue scopes of work for contractors. Identify potential risks within a project and provide cost-effective solutions. Interact with builders and material suppliers during the pricing stage. Prepare work to be estimated, ensure all necessary schedules, specifications, and drawings are reviewed. Maintain and update cost databases with ongoing material pricing. Process supplier invoicing data into Ascora for accurate project cost tracking. (Updated from Ascora) Work collaboratively within the team while also being confident working independently. Skills & Experience Minimum 2 years estimating experience OR 3+ years of on-site trade experience. Experience in commercial and/or residential construction projects preferred. Full trade qualifications in carpentry or related field, OR relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Building, or Engineering. Strong ability to review drawings, prepare take-offs, and costings. Experience with Ascora (preferred but not essential). Strong math skills for accurate take-offs and cost estimations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for cost calculations and data analysis. Excellent time management, organisation, and problem‑solving skills. A proactive approach with a strong work ethic and positive, can‑do attitude. Proficiency in estimating and project management software, including Groundplan (or similar takeoff software), AutoCAD, BidContender, Estimate One, Aconex, Procore, Ascora, and CRM systems is highly beneficial to any candidate.
