This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the public sector, providing strategic communications advice and managing all communication outputs for a major department. The successful candidate will be part of a team that enhances the reputation of a trusted provider of public health services and information, dealing primarily with mainstream media. This role requires proactive management of significant issues that gain media and public interest, as well as planning and delivering proactive media activity.What you'll do:Actively participate as a senior member of a team of media and communications professionalsDevelop and maintain relationships with senior management across various agenciesProvide advice to clients on proactive media strategy and delivery, and on issues managementDevelop media content for various platforms, including media responses, speeches, and talking pointsPlan and develop proactive and reactive media strategies, including managing press conferencesProactively seek opportunities to elevate the profile of the organisationEstablish, build and maintain relationships with media outlets across QueenslandContribute to the continuous improvement of the Media team by actively innovating strategies, processes and systems

What you bring:
