About the opportunity This is a unique opportunity for a Consultant Obstetric Physician to work in a complex Obstetric Medicine Clinic, focusing on pre‑pregnancy counselling, in addition to currently pregnant patients with complex medical conditions. This multidisciplinary clinic includes an Obstetric Physician, Consultant Maternal‑Fetal Medicine Specialist, MFM and physician fellows, Perinatal Midwife and administrative support. The specialist will participate in the outpatient management of pregnant patients with complex medical conditions, including assessing the patient's pre‑pregnancy condition to improve their conditions prior pregnancy as well as formulating a pre‑pregnancy plan and then managing the patient once pregnant. The clinician will be assigned to the Perinatal Unit and operate within the department of Perinatal Medicine. The clinician has a responsibility to be available to discuss and review complex clinical problems within the Unit, participate in and encourage a process of continuing education and clinical review within the Unit. The clinician will participate in the development, as required, of protocols for patient care within the Unit and participate in the ongoing clinical education of Junior Medical Staff and Medical Students. The clinician will also participate in or initiate clinical research within the Unit. You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
