The Opportunity We are seeking an exceptional Executive Assistant to the CEO, someone who will act as a trusted partner, enabler and the central coordination point for the CEO’s day-to‑day effectiveness. This role is critical to ensuring the CEO can focus on leading the organisation, shaping strategy and representing Australian basketball domestically and internationally. The EA will manage the diary, priorities, travel, communication and information flow with key internal and external stakeholders such as the BA Board, the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Olympic Committee, Paralympics Australia, FIBA and State/Territory members. The position is full time, we offer flexibility and balance in how we work, the role requires on site working (at least 3 days) at the State Basketball Centre BA Melbourne Office. At times some domestic travel will be required. Why the role matters In this role, you will: Enable the CEO to operate at a strategic level by ensuring strong systems, structure and prioritisation Build trusted relationships across the basketball ecosystem and wider sporting community Support the coordination some events, leadership workshops Represent the CEO with professionalism, warmth and confidence Play a key role in delivering BA’s long‑term vision for the sport Your work will have national visibility and meaningful impact across high‑performance sport, community programmes, international partnerships and organisational culture. What will you do Provide full, proactive diary and workflow management Review emails, requests and information on behalf of the CEO Anticipate needs, prepare briefs and ensure the CEO is always set up for success Coordinate weekly leadership team meetings, workshops and internal events Stakeholder & Board Engagement Represent the CEO to internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and clarity Build strong relationships across BA, the Board, government bodies and international partners Provide administrative and travel coordination support to the Board if required Travel, Logistics & Event Coordination Plan and manage domestic and international travel itineraries Coordinate CEO attendance for industry events, major competitions and stakeholder functions Organise State & Territory workshops, VIP requests, appointments and events Administration & Governance Manage CEO expenses, credit card reconciliations and purchasing systems Prepare meeting papers, briefing documents and correspondence if required Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality, and judgement at all times What you bring Experience & Qualifications Experience supporting a CEO or senior executive in a complex environment Strength in managing competing priorities displaying exceptional judgement Experience coordinating domestic and international travel Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills and familiarity with SharePoint Experience in sport, government or a member‑based organisation is advantageous Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People Certification, and ongoing eligibility to work in Australia.
