Engineering Manager (AI and Intelligent Automation) Join to apply for the Engineering Manager (AI and Intelligent Automation) role at Westpac Group. This is a hands‑on role that combines technical expertise, leadership, and a passion for driving innovation in the AI‑infused intelligent automation space. Responsibilities Hands‑On Leadership: Apply your expertise in cloud intelligent automation technologies (AI, Robotics, IDP, workflow, etc.) to run experiments and technically lead delivery teams. You will be comfortable being in the detail and contributing to the development process. Lead and Inspire: Mentor a diverse team of intelligent automation specialists. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product, data and operations stakeholders, to ensure alignment and deliver solutions that meet our customers’ needs. You will be adept at communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Champion Best Practices: Promote and implement operating models and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including AGILE, CI/CD, testing, and monitoring, and navigate the unique challenges of developing and deploying AI‑based solutions. Qualifications Solid track record in delivering intelligent automation solutions in Financial Services or large enterprise (3 years of experience in an engineering leadership role and 5 years of experience in delivering intelligent automation implementations desirable). Informed on the latest developments in AI technologies and able to connect that to solutions for real‑world problems. Hands‑on experience with AWS/MS cloud engineering + ML/AI frameworks and technologies such as Strands, LangChain, AutoGen, A2A or similar. Can step between an individual contributor and orchestrator as required, encouraging the best out of the people. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Strong stakeholder management, communication and persuasion skills. Qualifications/certifications in cloud engineering + intelligent automation platforms (AWS, Microsoft). Why Join Us?
