Their Forensic Drug Laboratory (AFDL) provides essential forensic science services to agencies such as the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Border Force (ABF). This team plays a key role in identifying and profiling illicit drugs, contributing to intelligence reports that support law enforcement in disrupting drug trafficking operations. Duties Include: Assisting with cocaine and methamphetamine profiling, including weighing samples and supporting profiling chemists. Preparing samples for QNMR, GC-IRMS, and EA-IRMS analysis using advanced instrumentation and robotic platforms. Weighing IRMS standards for EA-IRMS analysis. Archiving legal paper records and supporting the Quality System. Performing data entry and assisting the Quality Officer with various tasks. Registering samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Ideally you will have: Previous experience in an analytical or chemistry laboratory. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of laboratory Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements. Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads. Security Clearance: This role requires a Baseline Security Clearance. The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain this clearance.
