Junior Accounts Payable Officer

This is a full function Junior Accounts Payable role from invoice entry to payment run compilation and processing. Managing both suppliers and subcontractors, the role involves communication with external stakeholders as well as co-ordination with internal project teams. The Junior AP Officer will be part of a five person Finance Team and will provide overall support to the team with general financial related tasks. Authority and Responsibility The Junior AP Officer’s authorities and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following: Managing and sorting of Accounts Payable electronic mailbox Daily invoice logging and allocation to the relevant project team Follow up statutory paperwork for relevant invoices Liaise with project teams to ensure timely approval and allocation of invoices Assist with monthly supplier account reconciliations Assist with compilation of weekly & monthly payment runs Maintain strong supplier relationships by communicating and liaising with suppliers/subcontractors Provide support and backup to finance team members during busy periods or when staff are on leave Pre-requisites Entry level accounts payable experience (1-2 years) in a high-volume environment (preferably construction industry experience) High attention to detail and accuracy of information entered into accounting software Excellent organisational skills e.g. we go through large volumes of emails/invoices daily Excellent communication skills – there is daily communication with suppliers/subcontractors/site staff and project teams over the phone and face to face Reliable team player – everyone works closely in a supportive environment Friendly, sociable and easy going (we have a small team, so personality is important) Preferably degree or diploma qualified in Accounting/Commerce Efficient with Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel & Outlook We prioritise your professional development, reward high performance, and recognise achievement.
