Social Volunteer – HammondCare At Home Spread Joy by joining our Volunteer Team The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in the Central Coast. From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords – whatever you love, you can share it with someone who loves it too. Job Overview As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in your community. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with and help improve their quality of life. Responsibilities • Provide companionship and meaningful social interaction to older people in their own homes. • Sit and have a chat, reminisce, and talk about topics of interest with elderly people. • Conduct regular visits, helping elders feel less isolated and enhancing their quality of life. Qualifications We’re looking for caring individuals in the Central Coast who can sit and have a chat, reminisce and talk about topics of interest with elderly people in their own homes. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. Commitment & Details Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: One hour visits for 6 months or longer. Suitable times between Monday to Sunday 9 am‑4 pm. Training: Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face‑to‑face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer. Optional – First Aid course.
