APS6 - Performance Reporting Specialist, Assurance, Integrity, Risk & Governance Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts – Melbourne VIC The Performance and Corporate Reporting team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to fill a key vacancy. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The team plays a critical role in managing the department’s Performance Reporting Framework, ensuring compliance with performance reporting obligations. The team works closely with performance measure owners across the department to ensure all measures meet legislative requirements and collectively provide a clear and comprehensive picture of departmental performance. The team also leads the development and production of key strategic documents, including the department’s Corporate Plan and Annual Report. The key duties of the position include: What will you do? You will contribute to the department’s corporate reporting requirements, with typical duties including: Supporting the implementation and ongoing management of the department’s Performance Reporting Framework. Collaborating closely with performance measure owners across the department to develop, refine and report on performance measures. Monitoring compliance with performance reporting obligations and supporting internal stakeholders in meeting these requirements, through the provision of advice, facilitation of workshops, and the development of processes, tools and guidance. Assisting in the coordination of internal governance processes related to performance reporting. Contributing to the development and production of the department’s Corporate Plan and Annual Report. Staying up to date with relevant legislation, policy changes, and best practices in public sector performance reporting. Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to: Engage effectively with stakeholders and colleagues with a demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Be well organised and effectively prioritise and manage competing priorities, including being flexible with changing priorities. Communicate effectively both written and verbal, delivering and tailoring information in a variety of formats for a range of audiences. Analyse complex information and apply critical thinking to identify issues, support informed decision-making, and provide clear, actionable advice and guidance. Achieve results and quality outcomes by showing initiative and leadership, working in a small team delivering multiple activities at any given time, often within tight timeframes. Experience in performance and corporate reporting is highly desirable, but candidates with strong backgrounds in corporate strategy or business planning, program evaluation, data analysis, governance or working with legislation in a practical context are also encouraged to apply. The role suits individuals who are confident working with complex information, engaging with stakeholders, and driving meaningful contributions to strategic planning and reporting. Eligibility requirements Citizenship: candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of submitting your application. Health Assessment: the preferred candidate may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the department’s preferred medical provider. Security Clearance: the successful candidate must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a checkable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting clearances. Police check: the successful candidate must satisfactorily complete an Australian Federal Police criminal history check. Integrity and Performance check: the successful candidate must satisfy the requirements in an Integrity and Performance check which is completed by your most recent employer.
