About the Role As a Senior Structural Steel Draftsperson , your responsibilities will include: The role works with the project management team and fabrication department. From initial tender handover to final fabrication handover the role requires attention to detail, a good work ethic and the ability to adapt and learn. Using Tekla and advanced procedures the role will help you grow into a high performing individual and provide job satisfaction. Modelling & Detailing Handle projects ranging from 10 to 250+ tonnes using TEKLA Structures, and participate in model sharing for larger‑scale projects across Victoria and South Australia. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to manage design changes and obtain necessary approvals. RFI Management Liaise with engineering consultants to navigate RFIs, approvals, and construction drawing issuance. Value Management Contribute to internal assessments to enhance project efficiency and cost‑effectiveness. This role demands a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results. Primary Responsibilities Modelling in Tekla Structures Review of consultant drawings, raising variations with project management 2D drawings including but not limited to marking plans, assemblies, shafts, fittings, reports Assisting other detailers in model sharing Education and Experience Relevant qualification in drafting or building design is advantageous Over 5 years of experience in steel detailing within a commercial sector Specific Knowledge Expertise in steel drafting and interpreting engineering and architectural drawings TEKLA EXPERIENCE IS A MUST HAVE Ability to use Microsoft Office including Word/Excel/Outlook PDF readers Work Hours and Flexibility Working hours are from 7am to 3pm Salary and Benefits Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000, depending on experience What We Offer Consistent, ongoing work with a market‑leading company.
